Successful Humorous Satyr Musical Group from Canary Islands, Spain

Originally from Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, La Chirichota is already known halfway around the world for its wit, creativity and social criticism through humor.

The company began in late April 2022 and two years later, La Chirichota has become a worldwide phenomenon. The name chosen by the group was inspired by the chirigotas. The members choose a character, a theme, and from there they elaborate a repertoire according to that motif and what that character would think about current issues.

With an audience on social media that has grown from 3,000 to more than 600,000 followers in three months, La Chirichota is currently immersed in a myriad of performances.

La Chirichota’s global impact has manifested itself in an exceptional reception in Latin America, receiving praise and requests for tours. Artists of the stature of Alejandro Sanz, Silvia Cruz and Nahuel Penissi, among others, have shown their support.

In the show “Vuelven los Clásicos”, the members of La Chirichota appear on stage with an antique costume to show us the point of view of composers of the past about things that are happening in the present.
