
Massimo Ciambotti
Economist Specializing in Accounting Ethics and Professor at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo
Ciambotti is Full Professor of Planning and Management Accounting at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, in Italy, Department of Economics, Society and Politics (DESP). In this university, he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics from 2009 to 2012 and Pro-Rector for financial and accounting aspects. In the same university he is member of the board of the Centro di Ricerca su Imprenditorialità (in English Research Centre on Entrepreneurship and Small-Medium Firms) and member of the Editorial Committee of the international journal Piccola Impresa/Small Business. He is also a member of the scientific committee of many journals and editorial series.
Ciambottis teaching and research experience range from business information systems to strategy and management control, to cover the field of knowledge management and intellectual capital, with particular attention to small and medium-sized firms. He is author of much research also in the field of Accounting History, with important publications on the figure of Luca Pacioli, on the medieval accounting in the Malatestian administrative system and on the relation between accounting and art in the Renaissance period.
Currently, he is member of the Commissione Tecnica di Verifica dell'Impatto Ambientale (in English National Environmental Impact Assessment Committee) in the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, President of Fondazione Claudi (in English Claudi Foundation) and Vice President of Fondazione Rossana e Carlo Pedretti (in English Rossana and Carlo Pedretti Foundation).
