Nadima Simón
First Woman Emeritus Professor at UNAM's School of Accounting and Administration
Simón Domínguez is a public accountant and holds a Masters degree and Doctorate in Administration from the School of Accounting and Administration (FCA) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
She is a member of the National System of Researchers Level II. From 2013 to 2017 she chaired the Consejo de Transparencia of the UNAM.
Her lines of research have analyzed productive chains in the steel and garment industries; the association of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises; and the participation of women in the maquiladora export industry.
She is co-author of the books Globalización y competitividad. La industria siderúrgica en México, Hacia una administración sustentable, Gestión del capital intelectual and Sustentabilidad empresarial en México.
She has received numerous awards, among them: Premio Universidad Nacional in Teaching and Research in Economic-Administrative Sciences; Premio de Investigación Económica Jesús Silva Herzog on two occasions; the Medalla Eligio Ancona granted by the government of Yucatán; and the Premio Biblos granted by the Centro Libanés and the Lebanese ambassador in Mexico.
