Fabio Santini

Associate Professor of Business Economics at the University of Perugia

"[...] at the dawn of the 16th century, one could not speak of accounting science (understood in the modern sense of the term) but rather of accounting art. [...] while accounting art was expressed in the implementation of theoretical models, such models constituted authentic scientific theories. This reflection seems to place Pacioli –and his mathematization of the world– as a true bridge between the philosophy of nature and modern science."

Santini is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Perugia in Italy. He teaches courses in Management Accounting and Advanced Management Accounting. He has a PhD in SMEs Internationalization and is a member of the PhD program in Economics at the University of Perugia.

He is the Chairperson of the Conference on "Management Accounting and Control in Small and Medium-Sized Companies" (EIASM, European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management, Brussels). He also serves as the sole administrator of the Agenzia per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario dell'Umbria (ADiSU) (in English Agency for the Right to University Study in Umbria) and is a member of the Evaluation Unit of the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

He has authored numerous national and international publications on topics such as management accounting, management control, performance measurement, and accounting history. He has also taught extensively on these subjects in various Masters, training courses, and summer schools both in Italy and abroad. Additionally, Santini is a certified public accountant and an auditor. He is listed in the National Registry of Independent Performance Evaluation Bodies and is part of the expert panel for appointments to the Institutions’ Board of Directors of Alta formazione artistica, musicale e coreutica (AFAM) (in English Higher education for the fine arts, music, and dance).
